Workshop Descriptions

Brief descriptions below. For detailed information about the workshop offerings and professional development credit, see NDCRN Mission, Goals and Workshop Offerings.

RUReady.ND.gov Basics This workshop is an overview of the career and academic tools available through the North Dakota Career Resource Network (NDCRN).
Career Planning Resources: A New Perspective

RUReady has been updated with a new look and several new features will be explored during this workshop.  Time will also be spent reviewing the work-based learning expectation in the North Dakota Perkins V plan which will go into effect for the 2020-21 school year.

Regional Career Professional In-Service A counselor in-service will be held for career professionals to provide timely information with upcoming statewide changes and updates.
Establishing Balance in a School Counseling Program On site, at your school (limited availability). School counseling programs focus on the Academic, Career and Personal/Social domains. Developing a Program of Work that is available to all students and maintains a balance between the three domains is a challenge. A review of state counseling requirements, available resources and tools will be included.  Register to express your interest and the CRN office will contact you.
Workshop Evaluation

The Workshop Evaluation is required for each workshop you attend if you intend to apply for professional development credit. We do appreciate feedback from all workshop participants. Please note that evaluations must be completed within two weeks after a workshop if you intend to apply for credit.

Assignment

Assignment: Reflection and Implementation Activity

The assignment is required for each workshop you attend if you intend to apply for professional development credit.

  • What is the Assignment? The assignment is to provide a detailed response to the following:

    • Reflections on New Learning: “What new concepts, strategies, etc. were most meaningful to you as a learner?”

    • Application of New Learning:  Develop a plan for implementation of the new learning into the classroom/work situation.  This may include either a lesson plan or creation of a product to be used with students.

To submit assignment(s), visit the registration site. Log in with the e-mail address that you used to register for the workshops. You will be able to input and submit your assignment and you will receive a confirmation that your assignment has been submitted.

  • We advise that you complete the assignment as a word processing document, save the document and then copy and paste the text into the appropriate section on our registration and assignment site. If you have any trouble adding the assignment to your record, contact the CRN.

  • Assignments submitted in other formats (e-mail, attachments, mailed, etc.) will not be accepted without prior approval.

  • Please note that the assignment must be completed within two weeks after a workshop if you intend to apply for credit.
